Corangamite Shire Council has prepared a draft Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2026-2030. This draft plan explains how Council will manage wastewater safely in areas without sewerage connection, to protect community health and the environment.
Onsite wastewater systems, such as septic tank systems, are common in parts of Cobden, Timboon, Port Campbell, Simpson, Derrinallum and Skipton on properties not connected to town sewers.
The new plan, which replaces Council’s 2014 Domestic Wastewater Management Plan, will impact decisions around resource allocation, land use planning, permit assessments, compliance, and community engagement about onsite wastewater management across the Shire.
Submissions close 13 April.
You can view the plan in the Documents tab at the right of this page, and comment by clicking on the "Take Survey" tab below.
