Tandarook Park Masterplan

Tandarook Park is a public space that is highly valued by the Cobden community. Established in 1989, the park was once a quarry site used to make the famous 'Cobden' red brick, and even used as the town rubbish tip before being beautifully rehabilitated. The picturesque setting and amenities mean the park is host to many weddings and events and has a sheltered rotunda, walking paths, toilets and BBQ.

We are in the final stages of preparing a 10 year Masterplan for the park. Once completed, this plan will provide direction for current and potential future uses of the space.

Thank you to residents and community members for contributing ideas as part of community engagement on the development of a 10 year Masterplan for Tandarook Park.

We have prepared a draft plan which contains 14 priority actions and seeks to:

• Retain the openness and uncluttered nature of the reserve
• Protect the view-lines through the reserve
• Achieve a suitable balance between developed and natural areas of the reserve
• Encourage greater use of and community pride in the reserve
• Enhance the reserve’s capacity to be used for informal play and passive recreation
• Enhance the appearance of the reserve and make it more welcoming and accessible
• Improve the safety of the reserve

Community members are invited to have a look at the draft plan and provide feedback via an online survey below. Please call us on 5593 7100 if you would like a hardcopy, feedback will be considered before the draft plan goes to the December Council meeting for adoption.
