Consultation has concluded.
Help us in the development of our Positive Ageing, Access and Inclusion Plan 2025-2029.
Corangamite is a shire of approximately 16,000 people, with a median age of 48.2. Over a quarter of residents in Corangamite are over the age of 65. The rate of those living in the community with disability is approximately 15%
To better support all residents, no matter their age or ability, we need a plan that we create together with our community members. This plan will focus on improving health and wellbeing, encouraging participation in community life, and fostering social connections. When everyone feels a sense of belonging, they are better able to participate in our community.
We are incorporating our Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2021-2025 into this new plan. This will support us to meet the requirements of the Victorian Disability Act (2006) and provide fair and dignified access to services, facilities, planning, communications, and employment opportunities for all residents in Corangamite. This way, everyone can lead a full, active, and healthy life.
To achieve these goals, we need a plan that includes Positive Ageing, Access, and Inclusion. With an ageing population and a number of residents living with disabilities, our Positive Ageing and Inclusion Plan will ensure they are well-supported. Let's work together to make Corangamite a place where everyone can thrive!
