Camperdown aged-care facility Sunnyside House has approached Council with a proposal to lease Jaycee Park in Manifold Street, Camperdown, for staff and visitor car parking and fire services infrastructure.

Sunnyside House is planning to expand with 16 new dementia care beds and a community wellbeing centre. The expansion requires additional car parking and upgraded fire services, and Sunnyside has proposed locating these services on part of Jaycee Park.

The playground in Jaycee Park will remain accessible to the public under the proposed lease arrangement.

Sunnyside House has indicated a willingness to work with Council regarding the future management and maintenance of Jaycee Park. One option raised is for Sunnyside to take on responsibility for the management and maintenance of the park in its entirety while ownership of the land remains with Council.

Council is seeking the community’s feedback on the lease proposal.

Following the feedback period, Council will determine whether to proceed with lease negotiations.

Onsite Meeting

Community members can discuss the proposal with Council officers and provide feedback during an onsite meeting.
