Corangamite Shire Council has released the 2026-2027 Draft Budget for feedback.
We have developed the Draft Budget following consultation with the community through late 2025 and early 2026, and consultation with Councillors and Council officers.
It includes a rate increase of 2.75% in line with the State Government rate cap.
The Draft Budget allocates $19.05 million for Capital Works, including:
Roads, bridges and drainage: $10.9 million
Plant and Equipment: $3.9 million
Waste Infrastructure: $2.0 million
Buildings: $1.2 million
Footpaths and cycleways: $258,000
Over the next year, this budget will enable council to:
Implement the Urban Street Tree Asset Management program
Complete major road rehabilitation projects
Implement Swimming Pool Renewal audit findings
Complete Community Recovery activities from the Otway, Skipton & Larralea fires
Implement Energy & Water efficiencies at Council Facilities
Implement the Early Years Plan 2025-2035
Complete Terang Stadium upgrade works
New initiatives
Urban Street Tree Asset Management program
Rehabilitation of Cross Forest & Fords Roads
Sealing of Bond Steet, Cobden
Peters Road Bridge – timber deck replacement
Roadside Vegetation & Weed mapping
Town & Locality Sign replacement
Council Website Refresh
Elm trees on Finlay Avenue maintenance program
Conducting Emergency Relief Centre Exercise
Completion of Coastal Connect shared services project
Timboon & Skipton Structure Plans
